What Performance-Grade Means
Designed, Not Just Restored
A factory piano is built to production tolerances. A Performance Grade piano is built to a design. We took this pre-war New York Steinway B down to the rim and remanufactured every major system to our own specifications, then set up the touch and tone for this one instrument.

Features
A new Sitka spruce soundboard designed from the original scale, and a full rescale with Stephen Paulello hybrid wire for a better-balanced voice from bass to treble.
Front weight, balance weight and strike weight set to spec, key by key. The result is an even, controllable touch that production keyboards rarely match.
Keyboard and action laid out to ideal geometry with a true line of convergence, using Steinway and Renner parts set up for optimized friction.
