I began my apprenticeship as a piano technician in 1992 while completing my B. A. in Music at Berklee College of Music in Boston. As a composition major, it made more sense to own a piano rather than spend hours on the practice room waiting lists. So I purchased a beat-up old upright piano, a tuning hammer, and a book on piano repair and maintenance. The fascination with the piano and its inner workings soon became such a passion that it even overtook my obsession with music, and I embarked on a career in piano technology, never looking back.
Today, Absolute Piano thrives under the management of a full team of passionate individuals.
Juan Armando, serves as our primary field technician and is also an accomplished rebuilder and pianist, holding a degree in piano performance from the Conservatory of Buenos Aires.
Yun Wang, our shop manager of more than ten years, also provides field service throughout the North Shore.
Our office is managed by Maghan Francouer.
In addition, we work with several specialized part-time craftspeople in areas such as refinishing, machining, and component fabrication. Together, this team brings depth, precision, and continuity of expertise to every instrument entrusted to the firm.
